Samara grew up in Rutherglen and now lives in the Table Top region, with her husband and 2 children. Their animals Ace (The Cat) and 5 chickens are a big part of their family. Samara is an exceptional multitasker, she also helps run and manage her husband’s successful building business.
For over 12 years Samara has enjoyed nursing on the Border and Wangaratta. She quickly completed her Certificate IV and Diploma of Veterinary Nursing (General Practice) and has also undertaken further study in Leadership and Management. She loves learning and is currently enrolled in a Diploma of Companion Animal Naturopathy. Samara has recently spent time working for one of Australia’s largest pet food manufacturing companies which has strengthened her knowledge and increased her passion for nutrition.
From a young age Samara has always loved animals, she feels incredibly grateful to be able to work with them every day. She feels privileged to be able to develop and nurture her relationship with individual patients. Her care and kindness positively influence the patient’s experience, meaning they are more likely to be happy to return to the vet clinic. She is always committed to the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Samara has undertaken further studies in intensive care nursing, nutrition, orthopedic surgery, and physical rehabilitation. She is passionate about these aspects of Veterinary Medicine, which is a great asset to Murray River Animal Hospital.
In the future, Samara plans to volunteer her time in Sri Lanka at the Millennium Elephant Foundation. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time relaxing and socialising with her family and friends, yoga, pilates, running and reading.
