Murray River Animal Hospital is the newest Vet Clinic in the Albury-Wodonga region. We are a small, start up business aiming to provide the best possible care for your beloved pets. Our small team is highly experienced and we all share a passion for animals. The comfort and positive experience of your pet while they are in our care is our number one priority.
We are starting our practice in the River Country Animal Emergency Centre (RCAEC) premises. This means that we have access to all of the same fantastic equipment and services as the emergency centre. The fully equipped hospital allows for on site diagnostic tests including digital Xray, in house blood test lab, in house microscopy, blood pressure monitoring. Treatment including surgery and medicine is always available.
This will be a temporary location, as we are building our own architecturally designed clinic in Thurgoona in the next year or two. We are incredibly fortunate to have been offered the use of the wonderful facilities at the emergency centre while we await the completion of our new building.
We firmly believe that the RCAEC provides an invaluable service for all vets in the Albury/Wodonga and the surrounding region. By taking care of after-hours emergencies for all of the vets in the area, the welfare and mental health of vets and nurses throughout the region is in much better shape.
By having a Veterinary Hospital in the RCAEC facilities by day, we hope to increase the general public’s exposure to this wonderful service. Our own after-hours emergencies will be treated by the lovely vets and nurses at RCAEC after hours on Thursdays, Fridays and weekends.
Why Choose Us
We love your pets almost as much as you do! We want your pet to feel comfortable when they come and see us. We are working toward “fear Free” accreditation (see behaviour section). We use happy pheromones so that the clinic smells and feels good when your pet arrives. We schedule plenty of time for appointments, so there is no need to rush. You pets can explore the consult room and get comfortable while you chat with our staff. We can wait until your pet is comfortable before examining them. If they are very fearful and unable to relax, we can offer sedation at the time, or to take home to give on a different day when you have rescheduled.
We also love puzzles, and will work toward solving any problems you are having with your pet. We have a holistic approach and will often talk with your at length to understand as much as possible about the history of your pet’s problem, potential environmental issues that may be involved, and what your main concerns and objectives are. Some puzzles are simple, but many are complicated, and may take multiple diagnostic tests and even trial treatment before we have an answer. Of course our main objective is getting your pet well and back home with you as soon as possible.
We have experience with successful diagnosis and treatment of hundreds of medical and surgical conditions that may affect your pet, and will guide you through the diagnostic process, treatment options and likely outcomes all the way along.
